DURANTHRAX is Sacrificing Pop Songs to the Gods…
DURANTHRAX is pulling together a lineup to give our beloved 80s pop classics a massive metal makeover. We’re searching for a singer, second guitarist, bassist, drummer, and maybe a keyboardist to join the ride. We’ll rehearse in North Dallas and start booking shows across the DFW area in early 2026. If you’ve got the chops and the love for both pop hooks and heavy grooves, come be part of a new band that’s all about energy, creativity, and good times.
I started DURANTHRAX because I’ve always believed that most of the 80s pop hits we grew up with would have been even more awesome if they had been written by Van Halen or Mötley Crüe. They’re begging to be metalized, reborn with fire, fury, and thunder. I’m building this band to bring that sound to life, right here in DFW, with musicians who feel it in their bones. If you’re the kind of player who lives for the stage and loves turning nostalgia into pure adrenaline, I’m stoked to meet you. 2026 is coming — and we’re going to hit it loud.
For these demos we took the backbone of four of our favorite songs—the original vocals, bass, and drums—and fused it with Zé's relentless metal guitar to evolve them into something new. Polished pop hooks collide with raw power and grit. Tracks like these will live in a new world—heavier, darker, and built for the stage lights and smoke machines.
